Debbie Haon, RYT, LVCYT
Debbie began taking yoga 6 years ago as a form of exercise for her health. In 2004, after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, yoga became a way of life. She realized that yoga was a healing tool and that pain would disappear while practicing. Wanting to share her discovery with others led her to become certified to teach from the Yoga Center in Minneapolis. Debbie also recently completed the certification for Lakshmi Voelker’s Chair yoga (LVCYT) so that she can help people who have trouble getting down on the floor to enjoy the many benefits of yoga. She is currently an intern in the Professional Yoga Therapist program (PYT) program and upon completion of the program, will be able to assist people “one-on-one” and at a group level. Practicing and sharing yoga with others continues to be her life’s passion. Debbie graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B.S. in Communication Disorders. She lives in Orono with her husband of 17 years and their 16-year-old daughter.

Gigi Jabbour, RYT

At the age of 16, Gigi first began studying Iyengar yoga in hope to minimize her back and neck problems. Many years later, Yoga-Mama classes she attended regularly throughout her difficult pregnancies proved to strengthen her trust in yoga’s ability to transform her to a state of improved wellness.

A tumor on Gigi’s pituitary gland (at the base of the brain) gave her Cushing’s Disease and she underwent neurosurgery in 2004 for its removal and again in 2007 when it reoccurred. The recovery from Cushing’s and the surgery was devastatingly difficult – physically, mentally and spiritually. She credits her return to a yoga practice for her return to wellness – body, mind and spirit.

In gratitude to all that yoga has done to improve her life, Gigi committed to giving back by be coming a Yoga Alliance certified Registered Yoga Teacher. She completed a year-long study at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis, with Amber Huttner (ERYT) as her mentor.

Gigi has a deep connection to the principles and heart of Anusara Yoga. She has had the honor to study with Anusara’s founder, John Friend several times, most recently on a ten-day tour of Scotland.

Her classes provide a safe, supportive, non-competitive, fun, wellness-promoting, strengthening, heart-opening and graciousness experience. Gigi feels that it is honor to teach and welcomes you to join in the journey.
