Eka Grata – One Pointed Focus offers Calm and Clarity

Tune in to your breath.  Fill yourself with the awareness of your breath moving into every part of you.  Energetically it reaches your toes and all the way up to your head.  Your breath connects you with everything within you.  Unifying your body with a steady breath brings calm and clarity.

In our yoga practice we sometimes hold poses for a length of time so that we can allow ourselves to be aware of all of our parts.  We also carry the intention of this steady focus into movement.  As the body flows from one pose to another, the only constant is our desire for total awareness carried in our breath.

This week we ask our breath to carry the intention of this steady focus.  We allow the intelligence of the breath to penetrate body, mind and emotions.  We can be one focused – eka grata – one gaze – one focus while we are holding a pose, or while we are moving through poses.  In this effort we are rewarded with peace, calm and clarity.  We have united ourselves.

Enjoy some longer held poses and a flow of poses linked together with breath and steady focus.  We will practice a set of Sun Salutations that are part of my annual 108.  Don’t worry – we won’t be doing 108!

Co-create Greatness

We are living at a time when people are waking up to their full power.  We recognize that we are not merely living separate from the world around us, but rather, co-creating a life with others.  When we practice assuming the greatness of ourselves we attract greatness from others.    You are intelligent, you are strong, you have accomplished so much already.  You know more than you think you do. When it comes to your yoga practice, you really do know more than you think you do.  Take confidence and the full support of this amazing time of year on to the mat this week.  Together we will co-create amazing and spectacular classes this week.

I’ll provide the backbone for sequence options and of course instruction and guidance.   You will use your own good sense and body wisdom to select just the right pose for the moment.  Trust yourself and the process – it works and it’s fun.  Together we use our skills, our intuition, our individual decision making power and know-how to put together a sequence that honors all of our strengths.  This class structure has been very popular in the past.  Come to Good Life Yoga this week and practice YOUR favorite pose of the moment!

High Summer – What Do You Have Growin’ On?

These are the high days of summer – maximum growth potential is here.  As Tantric Yogis who recognize the innate good in all things, we choose to use everything to our advantage.  What is at hand right now?  Full sun and full days available to create anything we want.  And a universe that delights in seeing more light.  You have everything available to you to create your desires.  Full Sun.  Full Support.  What do you want to create right now?  The possibilities are endless.

Is there an endeavor that you have been holding off on?  Now is the time.  You can create more silence in your life, you can create more friends in your life, you can use your hands to make something, your mind to focus an idea into reality.    You will know what to create.  Trust yourself.  You can do it.  You have all the support you need right now.  Go for it.  Co-create something wonderful for yourself and ultimately the world around you.  Hold in your mind’s eye that which you’d like to create.  Generate the energy for that creation today by opening up to the full support available to you

Enjoy full creative sequencing and an opportunity to set in motion your intention to get something growin’ on this summer.

Be here now.

Yoga is a commitment to your full radiant presence.   In our asana practice we endeavor to be truly alive in a pose.   We focus all of our awareness on being fully in the pose from breath, to alignment, to knowing the nature of our mind and emotions flowing through us.  When the pose is done, we can say that we truly lived it.  We were fully present to its unfolding.  We lived it fully with no regrets.  Off the mat, any time we choose to absorb our surroundings, focus our awareness on how are bodies are in space, what are thoughts are, how we are feeling – we are doing yoga.  We are connected to the full radiance within us that is us in every aspect.   When we commit all of our resources to the yoga, then our yoga becomes the practice of fully showing up for our life.  This week we show up and shine.  We practice in the full awareness that each breath is sacred and every moment one to savor and enjoy.

Commit to practicing with your whole heart, mind and body this week.   May our radiance serve as a reminder to all that each day is a gift, every down dog a tribute and a triumph of a life fully lived.
